Brisbane dirt bike racer, Jemma Wilson, claimed dual wins at the weekend at rounds five and six of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship held at Murray Bridge, South Australia.

Wilson's pair of first place finishes gave her enough points to tie fellow Yamaha rider, Alison Parker, for the Women's Championship Class lead.
The 20-year-old from Darra in Brisbane's South said she hoped to move into the class lead when rounds seven and eight of the championship hit her home state at Warwick's Cherrabah Resort on August 15th and 16th.

"I had a few crashes on both days, but it didn't seem to matter much because I lead both days," Wilson said.

"I won by almost two minutes on Saturday, on Sunday my crashes were a bit bigger, so I think it was about 38-seconds.

"I really liked the sand. I've ridden at the beach a few times and did a few sand motocross's so that helped me pull away... I really enjoyed the track so I think that helped as well.

"My WR250F went really, really well. It pulled through the sand a treat and was so fun to ride.

"I just tried to stay on top of the sand and it worked really well, my suspension was set-up great too."

Jemma's next national competition will be the Queensland rounds of the AORC to be held at Warwick's Cherrabah Resort on August 15th and 16th. To follow Jemma's progress in the AORC go to www.dirtbikepromotions.com.au
